Of Spanish-Swedish-English descent, Geri Halliwell was first a nightclub dancer and nude model prior to being part of the Spice Girls. A year after her much-publicized departure from the wildly successful girl group, Geri released the single “Look At Me,” which sold a million copies globally. This was followed by two more albums. Last June, Geri announced that she will become Ginger Spice again, at least for the duration of their reunion tour set to start in December.

A native of Nebraska, Gabrielle was a high school athlete and graduated with honors from the University of California in Los Angeles where she transferred after deciding that law school isn’t for her. The modeling agency where she interned while studying absorbed her, and this became her stepping stone for the television and the movies. Gabrielle has been hailed by the Queen of Talk for being a headstrong African-American woman, speaking for women who has suffered violence, having survived a rape herself when she was only 19.

In 2004 she released her first solo album, “Love. Angel. Music. Baby.,” the initials of which was used as the name of her very own fashion line, which became just as successful as her career away from her band. In 2006, she released a second album, “The Sweet Escape,” with a first video (“Wind It Up”) inspired by the musical, “The Sound of Music.”

Like actress Drew Barrymore, Gwyneth is also the goddaughter of acclaimed director, Steven Spielberg, in whose 1991 film, “Hook,” she appeared as a young Wendy, a role so small it could have been a cameo appearance. But that brief exposure gave her the much-needed attention a brilliant actress like her needs in order to earn a break. In 1998, she got the role as Shakespeare’s love interest in “Shakespeare in Love,” earning her not only an Oscar and a SAG award but several other roles (“The Talented Mr. Ripley,” “A Perfect Murder,” and “Proof”) as well. She is happily married to Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin.

Gretchen started out as a model but in 1996, she got a role in Spike Lee’s “Girl 6.” From there, Mol starred in a slew of both successful and lesser known films like “Rounders,” “Donnie Brasco,” “Music From Another Room,” and “3:10 to Yuma.” She also appeared on stage as Roxie Hart in “Chicago” on Broadway and as Jennie in “The Shape of Things” in London. With a steadily growing career, the world can expect to see more of Gretchen Mol.
